First of all, I'd like to say that if you're not using matcha yet, here are a few reasons why you should give it a try today!

It’s packed with antioxidants: Matcha is packed with catechins, and the tea plant contains a powerful antioxidant called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which also has cancer-fighting properties. Consuming Uji matcha may help prevent or reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

Helps with Weight Loss: Want to lose some fat?

We have just the solution. Studies have shown that matcha has properties that help boost metabolism and burn fat.

Consuming a cup of matcha a day can help your overall diet.

Serves as a relaxant: The high concentration of L-theanine increases the brain's alpha waves that induce deep relaxation. Research shows that L-theanine is useful for high levels of stress and anxiety.

Provides energy: Taking just one cup of matcha has been shown to provide an individual with long-lasting energy, this is due to the presence of chlorophyll found in plants. Chlorophyll serves as an energy-giving component for plants and can also provide energy to the human body.

There is also the presence of caffeine in matcha, albeit in a healthier and more subtle form compared to that found in soft drinks or coffee.

This way you don't get an energy pump for a certain period of time (like in a sugar rush) and then you lose energy.

Skin Benefits: The natural skin detoxifier, can reduce sebum production and diminish excess skin cells.

Its anti-inflammatory properties also treat acne and rosacea.

The most powerful natural antioxidant

Above you see a comparison of the antioxidant content in ORAC value (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity).

Antioxidants prevent the negative effects of so-called 'free radicals' on cells in your body. Antioxidants are the body's defense substances: they make you feel younger, prevent aging and chronic diseases. You can find them in fresh fruits and vegetables, but matcha contains the highest concentration of antioxidants of any natural source, including all superfoods.

Catechins in matcha are considered the most powerful and beneficial antioxidants (100 times more powerful than vitamin C).

One cup of matcha is equal to 10 cups of regular green tea in terms of antioxidants and nutritional value. This is because when you drink matcha, you are getting the entire leaf and all of its nutrients. For this reason, it is important to drink organic matcha that does not contain any pesticide residues.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ceremonial Matcha?

Ceremonial matcha, also known as "chanoyu" or the Japanese tea ceremony, has its origins in ancient Japan. It was practiced by Buddhist monks as a way to achieve inner peace, meditation and enlightenment. The ceremony revolves around mindfulness, attention to detail and respect for the natural environment.

When should you not drink Matcha?

It is best not to drink Matcha tea on an empty or fasting stomach. Matcha is full of tannins that can increase the acidity of the stomach. If you are sensitive to this, it can lead to stomach pain, constipation, nausea or in extreme cases vomiting.

Who should not drink green tea?

For some people, it is advisable to avoid green tea or limit its intake. This is especially true for pregnant women, people with heart problems or high blood pressure, and those who are sensitive to caffeine. Always consult a doctor if you have any doubts about your specific situation.

Is Matcha Good When You're Sick?

If you want to give your resistance a boost, then matcha tea is the perfect choice for you! This type of tea contains a source of vitamin C, chromium, magnesium, selenium and zinc. With 10 times more antioxidants than green tea, we are sure that you will no longer suffer from your cold or flu in no time!

How do you recognize quality matcha?

  • A good matcha is soft, creamy and subtle in taste. Matcha that tastes bitter is usually of lower quality.
  • Good matcha dissolves completely in both cold and warm water without forming lumps, is fine in texture (about 5 microns in size) and does not need added sugars as it is naturally soft and sweet, not bitter.
  • Good matcha is bright green in color, while lower quality matcha is often dull or even yellowish.
  • The price is a first indication of the quality. Usually a good matcha is a bit more expensive, because the production process is very labor-intensive. You pay an average of 20 to 35 euros for a good matcha.
  • If possible, rub the matcha between your fingers. You can judge whether the matcha is of high quality by the feel and texture.

Is Matcha Good for Your Gut?

Matcha tea is incredibly good for your intestines if you drink it in moderation. Drinking matcha increases your metabolism and promotes natural bowel movements.

Is Matcha really that healthy?

High in Antioxidants: Matcha is loaded with antioxidants, especially catechins, much more than regular green tea. These antioxidants protect your cells from free radical damage, which can benefit your heart and immune system.

Perfect

Snelle levering, goede kwaliteit.
